Evaluation for 1.3a
Materials include comprehensive, structured, detailed lesson plans that include daily objectives, questions, tasks, materials, and instructional assessments required to meet the content and language standards of the lesson (aligned with the TEKS and the ELPS).
The materials include comprehensive, structured, and detailed lesson plans that provide daily objectives, instructional tasks, required materials, guiding questions, and instructional assessments aligned with the TEKS and ELPS. Each lesson includes learning and language objectives, instructional routines, discussion opportunities, practice tasks, and assessment opportunities aligned with the lesson goal. Additionally, the “Before You Teach” section at the beginning of each lesson supports educator planning through TEKS and ELPS correlations, lesson objectives, questions, tasks, and assessments designed to support student mastery.
The materials also include hands-on instructional supports and embedded opportunities for student discourse and formative assessment. For example, lessons identify manipulatives and materials such as fraction circles, fraction tiles, number lines, digital fraction bars, foam base 10 blocks, and digital manipulatives to support conceptual understanding. The materials include lessons such as “Represent Addition of Fractions,” “Use Benchmarks to Evaluate Reasonableness,” and “Explore Multiplication Patterns with Tens, Hundreds, and Thousands” that have clearly defined learning objectives connected to mathematical reasoning and problem-solving.
The materials also incorporate routines such as “Spark Your Learning,” “Learn,” “Assess,” “Three Reads,” “Collect and Display,” “Compare and Connect,” “Turn and Talk,” and “Quick Checks” to support student engagement, mathematical discussions, and ongoing assessment of understanding and integrate the TEKS process standards and ELPS expectations for communication, reasoning, speaking, and writing.
