Materials include a lesson overview listing the teacher and student materials necessary to effectively deliver the lesson, and the suggested timing for each lesson component.
The grade 1, unit 7, “Daily Planner,” identifies educator and student materials needed for instruction in the measurement unit. For example, lesson 7.1 “Understand Length,” lists student workbook resources, independent practice resources, the “Compare Lengths Indirectly” activity, precut pieces of string, string for students to cut, and scissors. Lesson 7.2 “Measure Lengths,” lists student materials, the “Measure with Paper Clips” activity, paper clips, and dice. These examples show that the materials specify student-facing resources, physical objects, and manipulatives needed for instruction.
The grade 1, unit 5, “Daily Planner,” identifies resources for lessons on addition and subtraction stories. The planner lists student workbook resources, independent practice resources, online readiness skills, practice skills, support skills, spiral review, games, and “Personalization Day.” These resources help educators prepare materials for the lesson, assign digital practice, and provide additional support or review based on student needs.
