Evaluation for 2.1a
Materials include a variety of instructional assessments at the unit and lesson level (including diagnostic, formative, and summative) that vary in types of tasks and questions, including skills demonstration.
The materials offer diagnostic, formative, summative, and performance-based assessments at both the lesson and unit (module) levels. Lesson-level assessments serve as exit tickets and formative checks of specific lesson objectives, while module-level assessments act as more comprehensive summative measures across the module. Each module includes one to four performance-based assessments with rubrics that require students to demonstrate skills, such as singing, moving, or reading notation, and educators score performance using the provided criteria. Additional assessments, including Train the Brain, Bach’s Brain, Ear Training, Quaver’s Quirky Quizzes, song-based quizzes, and Quiz Challenges, provide multiple-choice, matching, listening, historical knowledge, and notation-reading tasks that educators can use to monitor student understanding.
The materials include a variety of instructional assessments, including diagnostic, lesson-level formative, and module-level summative assessments. These assessments feature diverse question and task types, including multiple-choice items, matching exercises, listening and ear-training tasks, notation identification, and performance-skill demonstrations. Together, these tools allow educators to assess musical learning in multiple ways and at different points in instruction.
