Evaluation for 3.2c
Materials support multiple types of practice (e.g., guided, independent, collaborative) and include guidance for teachers and recommended structures (e.g., whole group, small group, individual) to support effective implementation.
The materials include multiple types of practice and guidance for educators, along with recommended structures to support effective implementation. For example, in the lesson “Becoming Familiar with the Score,” the materials provide independent, guided, and collaborative practice, and guidance gives students multiple opportunities to provide feedback on their own performance throughout the lesson, individually and as a whole group. In the lesson “Solo Performer Listening and Critique,” students work in small groups and perform individually for one another. There is an opportunity for guided practice with the educator monitoring and encouraging each group.
The materials support multiple types of practice, including guided practice (through educator modeling and rehearsal activities), independent practice (PracticeFirst, Auralia, Musition, reflections, critiques, and composition tasks), and collaborative practice (ensemble work, peer buddies, section leaders, peer coaching, and small-group reinforcement). The materials also provide implementation guidance using whole-group, small-group, and individual structures, including differentiated assignments, ensemble and sectional work, independent activities, flipped classroom options, and software tools designed for full-class, group, or individual use.
