Evaluation for 1.1d
Materials include protocols with corresponding guidance for unit and lesson internalization.
The materials in the Math Journeys Program Guide, “Lesson Internalization and Planning” section, include protocols and guidance for both unit and lesson internalization
. The “Preparing for a Journey” section supports unit internalization by guiding educators to examine how each journey builds on prior learning, review lesson objectives and success criteria, identify scaffolds and enrichment opportunities, gather materials, and analyze learning progressions before instruction begins. The materials also provide lesson internalization protocols through the “Preparing for a Building Session,” “Preparing for a Consolidating Session,” and “Preparing for an Additional Practice Session” sections. These sections guide educators in clarifying instructional goals, anticipating student thinking and misconceptions, preparing materials, identifying formative assessment opportunities, analyzing student responses, and using progress-monitoring data to inform future instruction.
The materials in Math Journeys
provide protocols for unit internalization through the Cluster Overview Guide
available in the digital manager. The guide provides educators with an overview of the learning progression, the unit learning trajectory, core mathematical objectives, vocabulary, and the ELPS language goals to support internalization of the concepts covered in the lessons. Additionally, the materials include lesson-level guidance on internalization for each instructional session type. The Program Guide
directs educators to prepare for building, consolidating, and additional practice sessions by clarifying objectives, preparing materials, anticipating student thinking and misconceptions, identifying formative assessment opportunities, and using student evidence and Atlas Math performance data to guide instructional next steps.
