Evaluation for 2.1e
Materials include a variety of formative assessments with TEKS-aligned tasks or questions, including interactive item types with varying complexity levels.
The TEKS Correlation Guide identifies lessons connected to specific TEKS. For example, F2, “First Steps into Equations,” session 9, “Equations with Scales,” aligns to TEKS 7.11.A and 8.8.C, demonstrating that the formative tasks in the session align with the TEKS. Additionally, the materials include interactive formative assessment item types with varying complexity levels. For example, student logsheets and digital activities include multiple-choice questions, graphing tasks, number-entry tasks, text-entry tasks, and number line activities. Furthermore, the grade 7 materials include differentiated formative assessment tasks designed to address multiple levels of student readiness. As evident in Journey E, “Powers and Integers,” E2, “Integers,” station 2, “Negative Numbers on the Number Line,” the downloadable student logsheets include version X, Y, and Z activities. Specifically, version X provides scaffolded support, version Y includes grade-level tasks, and version Z includes more complex and non-routine problem-solving tasks. Together, these formative assessments provide students with opportunities to engage in TEKS-aligned content through multiple interactive formats and increasing levels of cognitive demand.
The XYZ activities provide a variety of formative assessments with TEKS-aligned tasks that incorporate multiple interactive item types and varying levels of complexity. These activities include number line representation tasks, sequence-completion tasks, card-placement activities, sentence-completion tasks, and multistep constructed-response questions that require students to explain or justify their reasoning. The activities are organized into X, Y, and Z versions that progress from supported practice to grade-level application and more complex, non-routine problem solving. This structure engages students with mathematical concepts through varied task formats and increasing levels of cognitive demand.
