Evaluation for 1.2b
Materials contain supports for families in both Spanish and English for each unit with suggestions on supporting the progress of their student.
The family-facing materials in the chapter 1
Multilingual Learner Support Guide provide section-by-section support in English and Spanish for each unit to support student progress. The resources offer suggestions across the course overview, agricultural history, industry sectors, and SAE development. For example, section 1.1 provides sentence frames such as “Agriculture means…” and “Natural resources are…” alongside home-language connection activities. These features invite families to say terms in their home language before transitioning to English. In chapter 4, the multilingual learner support section includes family materials in both Spanish and English to offer practical suggestions for families.
The materials provide tools to help families reinforce academic, professional, and technical learning at home. The
Course Resource Guide incorporates an on-demand training component that uses digital translation utilities to support families in languages other than English. For example, bilingual language support resources present core content in Spanish and English to assist families across units. Within the chapter 10
Multilingual Learner Support Guide, section 10.2 provides sentence frames such as “Renewable energy includes…” to encourage home vocabulary development.
The family-facing support materials were developed in both English and Spanish for every chapter of the course. The
Family Support Guide provides chapter overviews, section-by-section explanations of student learning, discussion prompts, and concrete suggestions families can use to support learning at home. In addition,
Multilingual Learner Support Guides for each chapter provide vocabulary support, sentence frames, home language connections, language-development strategies, and instructional supports that families and educators can use to reinforce student progress. Together, these resources provide English and Spanish materials for each unit with specific guidance for supporting student learning.
