Evaluation for 4.2c
Materials integrate academic, technical, and employability knowledge and skills in the context of the course and in alignment to the course TEKS.
The “Professional & Technical Skills Snapshot” and “Experiential Learning & Real-World Application” sections of the
Course Implementation Guide identify academic, technical, and employability knowledge and skills included throughout the course. The “Skills Snapshot” maps lessons to skills, such as communication, collaboration, problem solving, and technical processes, and indicates where the course addresses these skills across units. Additionally, the “Experiential Learning & Real-World Application” section describes authentic contexts, including project-based learning, real-world applications, and career-connected experiences that align with industry expectations. These materials indicate that educators expect students to engage with a range of skills in industry-relevant contexts.
The “Professional & Technical Skills Snapshot” and “Experiential Learning & Real-World Application” sections of the
Course Implementation Guide do not provide evidence that academic, technical, and employability skills are intentionally integrated within instructional tasks or activities. While the materials list skills and describe authentic contexts, they do not include specific examples showing how the course combines and applies these different skill types within the same learning experiences. The course aligns these skills to lessons in isolation, but the experiential descriptions do not include task-level evidence demonstrating integrated application of multiple skill types during instruction. As a result, the materials do not show the integration of academic, technical, and employability knowledge and skills to support meaningful application and workplace readiness.
